We're committed to serving veterans.  Should you enroll onto Medicare if you already have VA health care benefits? Absolutely!!

• When you have VA benefits but get services from a civilian provider.

• The Medicare and VA Medical system are separate, with no coordination of benefits between them.

• VA Medical benefits will not pay for Medicare out-of-pocket costs ie: deductibles, copayments or coinsurance.  If you choose not to enroll in Medicare when eligible and keep you VA coverage only, it is possible that you will not have coverage for any healthcare facility outside of the VA system.

• Most times Medicare will be primary and COBRA will be secondary.  The exception is if your employer group coverage has special rules that determine the primary payer.
